RED SHIFT EP
12 Inch
10.04.07
d1 recordings mark their 35th release with eamonn doyle s >red shift< ep. following on from his recent >ghost of the machine< release on sweden s hertz recordings, here he lays down two more slices of extremely deep bass driven techno aimed at the more discerning dance-floor. the 12-minute title track >red shift< is built around a deep rolling sub bassline with layered orchestral strings used subtly throughout. the flip sides >winter sun< arrives with more shimmering strings, this time underpinned with a crisp 909 backbone and lifted with some rich and soulful lead string lines. this release is part of the d1 limited editions series. vinyl runs are strictly limited to 300 copies, after which the ep will only be available digitally. the red shift ep has already caught the ear of many of the world s leading producers with dj support coming from detroit legends dj bone, claude young, octave one and also mark broom, laurent garnier, rennie foster and kan shinomura
MADE UP WORDS
12 Inch

when iridite started out they really wanted it to represent a wide selection of electronic music - at the time, many of the bigger labels (and many independent ones too) seemed content to pigeon hole everything, generating sub label after sub label, each with its own micro-scene or genre. over the years we feel we ve done a pretty good job of steering clear of the obvious but we were still lacking a little in one important area - house music. although >ga< isnt straight down the line standard house music, it s instrumentation, simple repeating bassline and beats give forward motion that fits nicely with a more old school version of house along with some percussive vocal stabs and eventually, a huge synth string climax- like a cross between early ron trent, fingers inc and kenny larkin. the b side gives us two tracks from one of the most talented young producers working in the field today - jamie greer, who s tha poke guise gave us one of the highlights of ir004 (uncommon sense), moves >fall fwd< in strong style with his unique take on the (original) detroit sound - remaining completely individual, his sound is instantly familiar and yet never derivative or tired. both tracks have the energy to survive on the dance floor but the subtlety and depth to bear repeated listening at home - proper techno

wherever there is a need for bumping house music and kids are dancing to boring grooves, you call shyza minelli. she returns to tuning spork after way too long with two dancefloor bombs that are primed and ready to explode on impact at clubs worldwide. for this release shyza is bringing you a 12 with two different flavours, one on each side. set the limit is the a and haunting me is the b. set the limit is 9 minutes of rippling stuttering unadulterated funk that only tuning spork can give you. haunting me is the b side on this sick 12, but if you were hoping to catch your breath after the a side then you can forget it, this is another crazy trip into nightclub psychosis ! big with ricardo villalobos, mac schneider, dan curtin, luciano !!
incl. rmx by henrik schwarz, the los angeles born and bred patrick has been concocting new musical flavors for the past five years in his newly adopted city, berlin, the electro capital of the world. his style? a racing, sensual electro track meets a smart, hard-hitting funk groove, and throw in a twist of warm soul vocal stylings while youre at it -- e voila! arriving in berlin, after a hiatus from music, he picks up some music software for the first time. his discovery of the software allowed him autonomy over the creative process that he was able to develop songs to his own liking…his first vinyl single release from the label stereo deluxe, contains two tracks from the soon to be released album, >this silence< and >loose< -- and a bomb-dropping remix of >loose< from henrik schwarz..

RESHAPED & REFORMED (LMTD BLUE COLOURED VINYL)
12 Inch
20.03.07
detroit s new >soundshift< imprint makes a stunning debut with this intoxicating two-tracker. opening up is the soultek remix of billy dalessandro s smashing >don t sleep< release (which was found in the many sets of dan bell, ame, annie mac & pete tong last month) this mix is nothing short of brilliant and will certainly capture the hearts and sets of all those mathew jonson or loco dice fans out there. it has a subtlety that really creeps up on you and before you know it you re tapping your feet and zoning out listening to the intricacies of the music. truly minimal, there are loads of space within the track which is somewhat similar to the original but still a world apart, particularly in the fantastically eerie synth programming. in the forefront of the song is the shimmering and haunting vocal loop, >don t sleep< which has an almost hypnotic effect. (think richie hawtin in closer) the melody of the title is a delicate affair which sips cocktails in the company of some nicely chosen whirring and echoing noises. the build is effected so subtly it verges on melancholy but halfway through a rumbling bassline, appregiated melody and backbeat hi-hat pattern announce a funkier escalation!!
